WHAT temperature is it?

The max temperature in the Infrared Suana is 70 degrees but we don’t recommend going higher than 65 degrees. Remember, it’s all about the heat entering your body, the sweat is the bonus! Infrared saunas are a ‘dry’ heat that raises your core body temperature, making for a very intense sweat.

The maximum temperature in the Traditional Finnish Sauna is 110 degrees. Make sure you take as many breaks as you need and cool off in our outdoor shower and ice plunge.

The Ice Baths are between 6 and 10 degrees. We suggest you don’t spend more than 7 minutes at a time in our Ice Bath. Repetition is better than time in the water. If you are just starting out, try one minute in and then one minute out three times. Then as your body adjusts you can look at extending your time in the water.


HOW LONG IS MY SESSION?

Infrared Sauna sessions are 45 minutes.

Ice Bath sessions are 15 minutes.

The later you arrive, the less time you have for each session. Please arrive early, especially if it’s your first session so we can show you how everything works.


IS IT PRIVATE?

Yes, all Infrared Saunas are completely private! Cottesloe has 4 infrared saunas and 1 ice plunge. Victoria Park has 3 infrared saunas and 1 ice plunge. Randwick has 6 infrared saunas and one communal Finnish sauna.

Each Infrared sauna and plunge is set in its own room.

At Randwick you can indulge in our communal contrast therapy balcony experience. Up to 4 people can be booked into this experience at once. If you want to have the balcony sauna and ice bath completely to your self, you can simply book out the 4 available spaces at any one time.


CAN I BRING A FRIEND?

Of course! Book in a 2 person session online or email us and you can pay the difference on arrival ($25 extra for the Infrared Sauna or $15 extra for the Ice Bath).

To book a sauna for you and a guest, select “1x Infrared Sauna (2 person)” when booking.

To book an ice bath for you and a guest, select “1x Ice Bath (2 person)” when booking.

Strictly no children 16 and under allowed into the studios.


WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

For the sauna we recommend you wear underwear or bathers. You will sweat a lot, so you want to be comfortable. Remember to wear loose fitting clothes for after your session.

For the plunge we recommend you wear bathers or something you don’t mind getting wet.


WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

A water bottle to stay hydrated, we provide plenty of cold water refills.

You’re more than welcome to bring your own towel but we do provide towels for each session.


ARE THERE SHOWERS?

Yes. But we recommend you let your body cool naturally after you sauna and shower when you get home. This will help your body feel the benefits for up to an hour after your session is over.

If you are having an ice plunge after your sauna you need to shower before entering the ice plunge for hygiene reasons.


I HAVE FAKE TAN ON, CAN I STILL SAUNA?

No. Please do not wear fake tan in the saunas.

Any damaged towels from fake tan will incur a $25 fee per towel.


CAN I APPLY OILS & LOTIONS IN THE SAUNA?

No. Not only will it block your pores and decrease your sweat, it will stain the wood.


CAN I TAKE MY PHONE IN THE SAUNA?

Yes you can. Just keep an eye on it as it will heat up.


How does the Helix All Access Membership work?

You get unlimited access to all Infrared Saunas and Ice Baths across each of the locations in Sydney and Perth. You just login and make the relevant booking (limited to 1x Infrared Sauna and 1x Ice Bath per day).

Membership is debited weekly from your nominated card.

Minimum 4 week commitment

One weeks notice is required for cancellation of the membership.

You can bring a friend - they just need to pay the additional fee at reception for each visit.

Subscriptions cannot be shared or used by another person.
